Everybody is ready when it's too late. Protecting yourself is a full-time job. You can't wait until something goes wrong to decide you're going to change, that the time has finally come for you to do the right thing. Are you going to start when you're in a hospital bed? Now you've got all these things stuck in you, with tubes up your nose. It's easy to go have fun, to drink wine and eat some fire-ass food with all kinds of seasoning on it, with sugar and mayonnaise. That tastes good to me, too. You think I don't like it? I look at it like, "One of them has got to go. Which one?" You can't have both. You can't eat yourself into a hole and think you're going to be rewarded with good health.

If that's the mentality you adopt, no matter what you've got, you're not going to do well. It doesn't matter what state your finances are in, because you're going to die and then somebody else is going to spend your money. It doesn't matter who gets it. It could be the government, your family, your kids, your daughter, or your wife. Some people always press me with this shit. "Man. You know I'm just working because of my daughter and my son." What the fuck? So you think when you have kids, you've just got to work and that's it? That's what you were hitting it for?

That's your excuse not to advance? The society that you're born in? You aren't going to try? You don't put it on the kids? Man, that shit's weak as hell. You going to grow old like that? I don't respect that. I can't even be around people like that. But that's so common. I don't knock 'em, but I just hear them and take it in. There's a group of people that isn't going to be ready for that. I don't know them. I just want to see them from afar. They aren't going for that. That's what gave me the example to push, because you can see it. Everybody can see it. You don't have to go by what your parents showed you, what your brother showed you, what the people in your neighborhood showed you. Not at this point. All you've got to do is look inside
